New Construction Bathroom with Custom Tile Shower and Built-In Niches

Here's a new construction bathroom we just wrapped up - and this one had a lot going on. Custom shower, built-in niches, pebble floor, large-format field tile throughout the main floor. Every material choice in this space had to work together, and getting the tile right was the thing that tied all of it together.

The shower walls are covered in a vertical-stacked glazed tile that gives the space a clean, slightly textured look without being busy. We ran it floor to ceiling on both walls inside the shower. Two built-in niches were framed out and tiled flush with clean dark borders - no bulky trim pieces, just sharp lines. That kind of detail takes planning before the first tile ever goes up.

The shower floor is where things get a little more interesting. We used a natural pebble mosaic tile inside a white marble curb, with a centered square drain. It's a nice contrast to the smooth wall tile above it - visually it breaks up the space, and functionally it adds grip underfoot. The main bathroom floor uses a large-format stone-look tile that flows all the way through the room and ties the whole thing together.

This is the kind of bathroom remodeling and custom tile work we do all the time - both on new construction builds and full remodels. Getting the layout right, managing the transitions between different tile types, keeping everything level and plumb. That's the work that determines whether a finished bathroom looks sharp or just okay. We take it seriously either way.
