Large format tile showers are having a moment - and for good reason. Fewer grout lines means less scrubbing, less buildup, and a cleaner look day after day. That's not just an aesthetic win. It's a practical one.
Here's what we were working with on this build: a full custom shower featuring large marble-look porcelain wall tiles that run floor to ceiling. The veining carries across each panel in a way that gives the whole space a cohesive, high-end feel. It's the kind of detail that separates a well-built shower from one that just gets the job done.
The floor is a small-format hex mosaic tile - and that contrast works really well. Large on the walls, textured and slip-resistant on the floor. Both in the same tonal palette, so nothing feels mismatched. We built in tiled corner shelves on multiple walls for storage that blends right into the design instead of sticking out like an afterthought. The dual hand-held shower heads on brushed nickel fixtures were spec'd to match the hardware finish throughout.
This is what our bathroom remodeling work is built around - functionality that doesn't sacrifice the finish. A shower like this holds up for years because every layer underneath is done right, not just what you see on the surface. Custom tile work only looks effortless when the prep and install behind it are solid.
If your bathroom is overdue for an update, this is the kind of result that's worth doing once and doing right.
