Here's what we were working with - a dated master bathroom with dark floor tile, an old built-in jetted tub platform that had seen better days, basic vanity lighting, and a shower that just wasn't cutting it anymore. It had good bones, but the layout and finishes were stuck in another era. Our clients knew they wanted something completely different, and we were all in on making it happen.
We gutted the space down and started fresh. The old tub platform got demoed out entirely to make room for a sleek freestanding soaker tub with brushed gold fixtures. The floor got covered in large-format marble-look porcelain tile that runs throughout the entire space - and underneath it, heated floors. That's one of those upgrades that sounds like a luxury until you step on it on a cold Idaho morning. Then it just makes sense.
The shower was a full custom build. Large-format marble-look tile on every wall, a wood-look tile floor, built-in niches with backlit LED accents, a corner bench, dual shower heads including a ceiling-mount rain head, and a gold linear drain. The arched glass enclosure with brushed gold hardware gives it a real architectural moment. Every detail in that shower was intentional.
The vanity wall is where things get really interesting. We went with a full dark zellige-style tile accent wall from floor to ceiling, which creates a sharp contrast against the white quartz countertops and rich dark wood cabinetry. Gold oval mirrors and statement vanity lights tie everything together. It's a completely different feel from the rest of the room - bold and clean at the same time. We also added recessed mirror storage to keep the counters clear without sacrificing function.
This is the kind of bathroom remodel where every single upgrade serves a purpose. Better storage, better comfort, better flow. The before and after on this one is dramatic, and that's exactly what the clients were going for. If your master bath is stuck in the past and you're ready to change that, this is the kind of work we do every day here in the Treasure Valley.
