Full Height Brick Fireplace Build in Progress in Emmett Idaho

This one is mid-build, and we're already pretty excited about where it's headed. We're working on a whole home remodel in Emmett, Idaho, and this floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace is the centerpiece of the entire living space.

Brick work like this takes time to get right. The mortar joints, the coursing, the way the brick transitions up through the vaulted ceiling line - none of that happens by accident. We're using a charcoal and dark blend brick that gives the whole wall a moody, textured feel that you just can't fake with a veneer or a prefab unit.

The floating wood shelves flanking the fireplace are a detail we love on this one. They break up what could have been a heavy, imposing wall and give it some warmth. Paired with the custom cabinetry already in place beside it, this whole wall is going to feel intentional from corner to corner.

You can see the floor is still protected and there's finish work left to do - that's the reality of a remodel done right. We don't rush the finish line. When the surround is grouted and cleaned up and the floors are uncovered, this room is going to hit completely different. Check back for the final reveal.
