Most tile showers look fine. Clean walls, basic floor, done. But there's a big difference between a shower that looks fine and one that actually has some personality to it. That's what we were going for here.

The large-format wall tile sets a calm, neutral base - light gray with a subtle concrete texture that keeps things modern without being cold. But the real detail work is in that vertical pebble stone accent strip running floor to ceiling. That's the kind of feature that stops you when you walk into a bathroom. It breaks up the flat wall tile and gives the whole space a natural, almost spa-like feel without going over the top.

We carried the pebble tile down to the shower floor too, which ties everything together. It's not just a design choice - pebble floors add grip underfoot, which matters in a wet environment. The built-in niche is lined with the same pebble tile and trimmed out cleanly with black metal edging. That consistency is what separates a thoughtfully built shower from one that feels pieced together.

Small details matter here. The corner shelf, the centered drain, the way the accent strip lines up from the floor all the way to the ceiling - none of that happens by accident. That's the kind of custom tile work we take seriously on every bathroom remodel we take on.

When you're redoing a bathroom, it's worth thinking beyond just swapping out what's already there. The right tile selections and layout can turn a basic shower into something that genuinely adds value to your home - and something you'll actually enjoy using every single day.
