A bathroom that looks sharp and holds up over time starts with the tile work. Get that part right, and everything else falls into place. Get it wrong, and you're dealing with cracked grout, water damage, and a redo that costs more than the original job.
Here's what we were working with - a full tub surround and bathroom floor needing new tile from the ground up. We went with a glossy warm-gray subway tile run vertically on the walls. That vertical layout adds visual height to the space without doing anything dramatic. Simple, but intentional. The large-format hexagon floor tile ties the whole room together and keeps the look cohesive.
The detail we're most proud of is the built-in double niche. Two stacked shelves, framed cleanly into the wall, with black hexagon mosaic tile lining the back of each shelf. That contrast against the light gray wall tile is sharp. It's also completely functional - no shower caddies hanging off fixtures, no clutter. Just clean, built-in storage that's part of the wall itself.
That's what good custom tile work is really about. It's not just picking a tile you like - it's planning the layout, the transitions, the grout color, the details that most people won't notice until they're gone. We think through all of it before the first piece goes up. That's how you end up with a bathroom that feels finished, not just fixed.
Our bathroom remodeling work is built to hold up for years. Properly set tile, tight grout lines, and the kind of detail work that keeps water out and your bathroom looking good long after the job is done.
